Justice for Tom Hurndall

The Israeli soldier who shot British peace activist Tom Hurndall was sentenced today, and was jailed for eight years - seven years for manslaughter and one year for obstruction of justice. This is good news, but tempered by the thought that the case was only investigated and a prosecution brought because the victim was British. Plenty of Palestinian civilians have likewise been unjustifiably killed, but with no similar investigation and no justice.

Are you suggesting that because 'they' appear to get away with murder it is right for 'us' to ignore murder?

There's not much point in putting suicide bombers in jail. Even if you can find all the pieces, it's unlikely to reduce the likelihood of reoffending, or provide much of a deterrent to others.
