Hiroshima Day

Today, August 6th, is Hiroshima Day. 62 years ago today, at 08:15am on August 6th 1945, the US air force dropped a primitive atomic bomb on the city of Hiroshima. An estimated 70,000 people died immediately, and 100,000 in the aftermath. I say "estimated" because they didn't find all the bodies. Some left only shadows. This obscene atrocity was followed three days later by the bombing of Nagasaki.

Such atrocities must never be allowed to happen again. And we must make it clear to leaders contemplating such mass murder that anyone who uses nuclear weapons marks themselves as hostis humani generis - the common enemy of all humanity - and that we will spare no effort to prosecute and punish them.
