A run-off in Zimbabwe

The Zimbabwean Electoral Commission has finally begun releasing results for March's presidential election. The good news is that MDC candidate Morgan Tsvangirai beat Rubert Mugabe 48% to 43%. The bad news is that he didn't get 50%, so there will now have to be a run-off election. Which means another month of thuggery as Mugabe tries to beat, intimidate, torture and murder his way to re-election.

The numbers match the earlier independent counts, so I don't think there's much reason to doubt them. Which really makes you wonder why they didn't just release them a month ago.
